Influencer Rate Cards in Malaysia: Compare Quotes on the Same Brief

Three campaign proposal sheets aligned for a like-for-like influencer quote comparison

For a Malaysian brand, an influencer rate card is a creator’s offer for defined deliverables, channels and usage; it is not a market tariff. To compare two creator quotes, send the same brief, mark what each fee includes, and ask for the missing items before deciding. A lower creator fee may exclude posting, usage rights or reporting that the other proposal includes. Our blank creator quote worksheet lets you record the offer, its date and the terms you still need to confirm.

We use this method when a brand needs to choose a creator, rather than guess a fair price from follower count. Formats, audience, production, posting and reuse all change the scope. The two proposals below are fictional planning examples, not PONGO client work or actual market quotes.

Jump to the quote checklist, the same-brief example, usage rights, acceptance and payment, or the questions before approval.

Start with one brief, then compare the rate cards

Give each shortlisted creator the same one-page request. State the product, the Malaysian audience you can actually serve, the language, one channel, the customer action you want, the content you need, the publication window, and whether the brand wants to use the post in paid media. If fulfilment is limited to the Klang Valley, say so; a broad regional follower total does not answer the local audience question.

Put the worksheet beside each proposal. The first pass should answer these questions before you compare totals:

Check Record from each quote Why it changes the decision
Creator and audience Account, audience evidence and its date, market and language An audience profile is not a promise that the next post will reach your buyers.
Production Asset count, format, length, product and filming responsibilities A filmed video and an edit of supplied footage are different assignments.
Publication Named account, platform, date, live period and disclosure review Delivering a file is not the same as publishing it.
Review Number of included revisions, factual corrections and who approves A late change of brief may be charged differently from correcting an error.
Reuse and paid promotion Channels, territories, duration, editing permission and platform authorisation An organic post does not automatically include brand reuse or ad permission.
Reporting Metrics, definitions, source and reporting date Views, visits and enquiries answer different questions.
Commercial terms Currency, fee components, payment milestones, tax treatment where applicable, cancellation and rescheduling The headline amount alone does not show the full commitment or risk.

The worksheet has blank fields; it does not contain creator prices or client data. Save the actual proposal reference and quote date when you fill it in. If a required field is empty, return the quote for clarification rather than treating the blank as “included”.

A complete example: two proposals for the same Malaysia brief

Imagine a brand that can deliver in the Klang Valley and wants one 30-second vertical TikTok video, spoken in Bahasa Malaysia with English captions, posted from the creator's account in a stated week. The brief asks for a draft, product-fact approval, two review rounds, a 30-day organic live period, permission to reuse the finished post on the brand's own channels for 60 days, and an optional 60-day Spark Ads use. The brand will supply the product and approve any media budget separately.

Same-brief requirement Illustrative Proposal A Illustrative Proposal B What we do before choosing
Video and account post One filmed video and a creator post; format stated One filmed video and a creator post; format stated Confirm length, language, captions, publication week and live period in both written scopes.
Audience evidence A regional audience total with no dated Malaysia breakout A dated Malaysia audience screenshot with language notes Ask A for a dated local view; ask B how the screenshot was collected. Neither is a forecast.
Product review One draft review; factual correction terms unclear Two review rounds; product-claim reviewer named Ask A to price the second round and clarify corrections. Confirm B's approval deadline.
Brand-channel reuse Not stated Named brand channels for 60 days Ask A for the same channels and period; verify B's editing and territory limits.
Spark Ads Excluded Creator-post authorisation offered for 60 days Decide whether paid use is needed. If yes, request A's matching option and verify B's account/post authorisation. Media spend stays separate.
Reporting Total views after publication Dated post metrics and link results, if available Agree the source, window and exclusions. Do not turn either figure into a sales forecast.
Payment and cancellation Full payment timing stated; cancellation missing Milestones and cancellation trigger stated Clarify A's cancellation and rescheduling terms; check B's actual milestone dates.

Decision after the table: Proposal B is closer to the requested scope, but that does not prove it has the better price or will perform better. First obtain A's revised quote for the missing review, reuse and paid-use terms; confirm B's permissions and reporting. Compare A revised creator and posting fee + agreed rights and coordination + product/logistics charges with the same components for B. Keep any approved media budget on a separate line and check that no component appears twice. If A cannot cover a necessary use, record it as a scope difference. If neither offer meets the brief and budget, change the brief or continue sourcing; do not force a winner from incomparable totals.

For an actual budget, ask both partners to enter their dated amounts against the same line items. We have not verified a representative Malaysian fee range, so the table does not supply one.

Keep organic posting, brand reuse and paid use separate

For an organic creator post, confirm the account, delivery date and disclosure review. For reuse, agree the channels, territory, duration and any editing before the work begins. For a paid TikTok Spark Ad, also confirm that the relevant account or post is authorised and check the authorisation period. TikTok's Spark Ads guidance, last updated June 2026, describes authorised account and creator-post-code routes and shows an authorisation period beneath a post. It does not say a creator's posting fee grants every requested use.

Keep the platform step and the commercial permission in separate fields. A post code is an operational authorisation, not a substitute for agreed content rights. A downloaded video is not evidence that the brand can edit or distribute it elsewhere. Ask the responsible reviewer to confirm the actual agreement; this article does not decide ownership or legal rights.

Agree acceptance and payment before production

Write down what the brand can verify: format and language, product accuracy, required disclosure, the approved cut, account and publication details, the agreed live period, and the promised reporting. Name who reviews the draft and how long they have. Separate correction of an inaccurate product statement from a new creative direction after approval; ask how each affects schedule and fees.

Then match payment to the written deliverables. The comparison sheet should show currency, what triggers each milestone, any additional charges, cancellation, rescheduling and who bears product or travel costs. This is a procurement checklist, not a claim that every Malaysian creator offers identical terms.

For a broader view of creator selection and campaign operations, see our influencer marketing service. The Torriden Malaysia creator case page shows a separate content context to consider when shaping a brief.

Measure delivery and response without mixing them up

Campaign delivery and campaign outcome are separate records: verify the promised asset and post first, then measure audience response, visits, resource requests, enquiries and qualified opportunities with a source and date range for each. A creator code or tracked link helps attribute some actions; it does not automatically establish every later sale or a causal return. Where the connection is missing, label the result unknown rather than calculating a confident ROI.

If the buyer's larger problem is choosing between creator content, commerce operations and local discovery, use our Malaysia business growth overview to frame the channel decision. The cheapest available quote may be for the wrong customer task.

Five questions before you approve an influencer rate card

How much does an influencer in Malaysia cost?

There is no verified universal Malaysian price in this guide. Request current quotes for the same deliverables and audience brief, then compare content, posting, reuse, coordination and any media spend as separate components. If a required component is missing, ask for it before approving a total.

Does a creator's posting fee include paid advertising rights?

Only the written scope can answer that. Confirm the named account and post, permitted use, duration and platform authorisation. TikTok Spark Ads may use an authorised account or creator post code, but that technical route does not replace agreed commercial terms.

How do I compare a package with a single-post quote?

Ask both partners to quote the common brief first. Mark any extra asset, management work or longer reuse as an additional line. If one partner cannot supply a required item, keep that difference visible rather than ranking the headline fees as though the offers were identical.

Is a larger follower count enough to justify a higher rate?

No single follower number answers the buyer's task. Check the audience's market and language, the proposed format and the date and source of audience evidence. An account profile and a future campaign's actual reach are different measurements; neither guarantees enquiries or sales.

What if we cannot connect sales to the creator post?

Report what can be verified: delivered assets, publication, dated audience metrics and any tracked customer actions, with exclusions. Leave sales and ROI unresolved if the connection is missing. Our micro-influencer ROI measurement guide explains the cost and attribution distinction.

Your next decision

Send the same brief to shortlisted creators, fill one worksheet per dated proposal, and resolve missing rights and payment terms before choosing. If you want help defining the brief or operating the campaign, share your target market, product, language, intended channel and support needed through our contact page. Fees, availability and deliverables must be confirmed for the actual project.
